Liar, Liar

why can't we be honest
with others or ourselves,

because the lies can't last - and we're hurting
everytime there's a slice across our tongues

it's like a slow motion murder of our souls
and sooner or later it'll come toward severing...

then we'll simply learn to tell our falsehoods
with our digits and our palms; no emotions
