we don't have all the clues,
yet we weigh the leaves by their color;

and calculate the worth of a forest
using scales we invented.

same with human children and the scale never tips.
zero-sum is the ever-total and we wave goodbye;

a eulogy to Man: here lies a good idea--
whose time has not come.
