You Suck

by Angie Jenkins

Every single time
I want to stop thinking for you
And make my own decisions;
Every time I think to myself
“I’m smart enough, I don’t
Need you anymore
To tell me what to do
Or how to be a
Better person”
You have to go and
Make some fucking profound
Eye-opening statement that
Reaches into my very soul and you
pull out some
Deep-seated issue and
Go about fixing it,
Making it even HARDER for me to stop
Leaning on you like a helpless child.
Damn you.

Rain strikes the ground
as a typist, furiously
draining her soul
onto the earthen page.

I step into the water,
expecting to be pierced
and withered, but instead,
I am washed.

You've relayed the emotion perfectly, and captured it in a tone of playful disgust that would embed these words spoken aloud. I love watching your heart pour out - too bad it is sometimes in pain.
