Sitcoms are overrated. by Angie JenkinsIf I could have a day
Where the sun lit up the world
And the flowers bloomed
And the children ran,
Dripping ice cream cone in hand,
And problems solved themselves
In a matter of 30 minutes
Like all good sitcoms do,
I would give it to someone truly deserving;
For I would rather sit alone in darkness
Waiting for the rain to come while
Contemplating our failures,
Our break-ups, our misfortunes,
Would rather isolate myself in silence
Designing strange metaphors
For the bumps and bruises,
Than to attain a world
Where I would no longer remember you
And what we had.

"Contemplating our failures,

Would rather isolate myself in silence
Designing strange metaphors
For the bumps and bruises,"
I just love it. |
