a day made for me

by Charlie Morgan

i could tell something about the morning;
off plumb would describe it; foggy, hazy and
the day itself, laconic.

and above i know the sun shines, schools filled
with kids who have sunshine in their veins.

and i know it, feel it and can't be either.

i am the moss outside Baton Rouge's trees;
green but living a life of appearing dead.

such as it is; only the weepers cry.
the sky will unzip its serape by noon,

when i, once again continue with retirement.

and we need to use our days up before they use us up.

your language and imagery wraps and winds like vines down the naked trellis page, a pleasure to swallow your flavorful diction, peace n poems, jewels xoxox
