Hallway Roaming by Johnny CrimsonWe spoke in secret tongues
as we drift into the woods
the plate of snacks weighing heavy on our breathing.
Allison cuts her hair short
and walks just like a cat,
there's something rewarding in her silence.
She makes mud-pies like no other
and she'll splish-splash with the best,
they found her teeth on the basketball court blacktop.
Corys just an average kid,
his face always buried in his phone,
where curiosity and the mundane collide.
As he watches the livestream
of Allisons blood performing a backcourt violation
he slings his bookbag over his shoulder
and smiles on the path to school.
