The true Lion

by Vivek Shrinivasan

Tonight I sit
to re-think about things
for I lost a lot
that life brings

I didn't know how to begin
I didn't know how it would blend
so there was an intervention
and I lost it in the end

How I wonder at times
could I make it right
and didn't I deserve to lose
at last I did give it a tough fight.

Such are those moments that make you mute
some times even blind
even though out of sight,
but always on my mind.

Thou I shall not regret
the things I have done
and so I fled the battlefield alive
for there is another war to be won.
