I've never seen a sunrise
only the sunset.
It sets every night,
and leaves the sky darker than black.
No stars, no moon, no light,
just black.
I dream of a brighter sky,
with a rainbow of sunlight,
one that only arrives with a true lover's sunrise.
With so little you can turn that sunset into a sunrise.
So here I stay....waiting...
for you to see that just maybe,
that one day we could,
shine through the blistering dark,
and light our worlds with an array of light.
