The One Who Loves Me

by Charles M Harrison

He was born into a place with no love,
a mother lost in a junkies world,
a father never there.
He became a troubled teen,
drugs and drink to hide a broken heart,
his actions screamed my life’s not fair!
The years seemed to fade one into another,
as he grew to be a lonely bitter man.
Never knowing how to show love and care.

In his heart there burnes a fire
an aching need that will never tire
for the one thing that we each require
our one and only true desire.

A little girl whose childhood was stolen,
a lifetime of guilt, she must bear the blame.
Looks for redemption in the wrong place.
A heart empty, black with pain, and loss,
a future so dark she just can not face.
Each time she is used for what she calls love,
how many men now, she can’t remember
she longs for her soul, but there is no trace.

In her heart there burnes a fire
an aching need that will never tire
for the one thing that we each require
our one and only true desire.

The world is full of those who ache,
and cry out in pain. Longing to find what they miss
the part of them that only love can fill.
Through time immortal hearts have searched,
some for a lifetime, lost and alone, not knowing.
The weary, the heartsick empty inside, search still.
The one they seek is in plain sight, within their reach,
waiting, whispering, I am here, call on me, I am here.
He was, he is, and he always will.

He is the peace that quenches the fire
he loves us always and will never tire
the love he gives we all require
it fills our one and only desire.

He was born into a place with no love
a mother lost in a junkies world,
his heart healed when he did belive.
A little girl whose childhood was stolen,
a lifetime of guilt, she must bear the blame.
Found a grace she could not conceive.
The world is full of those who ache,
and cry out in pain. Longing to find what they miss,
the one who loves me, they all can receive.

He is the peace that quenches the fire
he loves us always and will never tire
the love he gives we all require
it fills our one and only desire.
