#27 – trying to be a good person

to the grocery store this morning.
this is worth noting because
I rarely (read ‘never’) remember
to do this. Happily, today
the stars aligned, my neurons
and synapses were crackling
and thus two paper bags were left
for those far less conscientious than I.
Unfortunately, as I was trans-
versing the parking lot
I stepped on a butterfly.
who knows what effect this will have
on future generations and, indeed,
the whole of space and time.
