A Secret

by John D Uzzell

I have a secret I need to tell
Something inside so long
I have a secret dying to get out
Knowing it like a favorite song

There is a problem, I can`t say a word
It will ruin too many lives
Crossing the line of what is right
Betraying husbands and wives

I have a secret I cannot tell
I`ll keep it deep inside
A love in quiet, I watch and wait
One that has to hide

You smile with your voice when we speak on the phone
I can hear the thought in your eyes
I wish I could tell more than just me
But confusion would come from the lies

I have a secret I am keeping from you
We touched on it the other day
I wish I could tell you just how I feel
Then you will have a love to stay
