#15 - (In)delible Design by Linda FullerSome scan the skies in search of potent signs
and make their choices based on random clues
held hostage to indelible designs
Each path we take negates all other lines
of time and chance, thus many of us choose
to scan the skies in search of potent signs
But is the choosing solely yours or mine
or that of Fate who shanghais helpless crews
as hostage to indelible design
Each solitary act performed defines
a life, so some tenaciously refuse
to scan the skies in search of potent signs
Decisions made, or not, a man resigns
himself to sorrow as regret imbues
this hostage to indelible designs
If Man were gone the stars would still align
a trillion bright deceptive points of view
but who would scan the skies for potent sign
or fall prey to indelible design

villanelle-ish
vaguely inspired by the zodiacal upheaval
