feeling right

by Carissa Dewey

cold. Winter’s wind in this dark ally.
the sliver of moon ahead. I stand
let it chill my hair, my fingers, my legs.
It burns, it numbs, in only moments.

I’m thinking of you. How I left you,
how I am thousands of miles
away from you. This is new to me,
this seriousness, this sudden change.

The moon, a splinter. Jabs at
me through the fierce wind.
And just yesterday
I had called you, hoping you
would say the things to reel
me back to you.

And it’s only
forgotten moments
where I felt right.

this is extremely well-written. It "feels right"

The title certainly applies to the rest of this poem. Excellent work.
