I Am Not by Joan SerratelliI am not
the person
I used to be
Sometime,
along the way,
I grew up
I am no longer
afraid
to be me
Love me;
hate me;
I am
who
I am
A lonely person
growing older
trying to make
peace
admist turmoil
Fight a fair fight
don't break any rules
Live in the present
Not knowing
how it will end
Life is not fair
Never give in
In the end
we will be judged
by a Superior force
I am a product
of my actions
I will never give in
I am stronger
than
I look

| Posted by Stuart Shilton on 01/10/11 at 07:02 AM hmm my grandpa used to tell me to never regret an action because at one point it was exactly what i wanted. i am still trying to be honest enough with myself to see that, you poem helped. |
