by then by Charlie Morganby then i'll walk by and they'll never see,
i'll be shielded by my cloak of invisibility
from a used Philip K. Dick novel of short stories.
i will be wearing each day's scars of battles;
each a pennent of sainthood donned by devils.
gilded in a luscent array of life-long endeavors.
i am the devil with a sainted soul; my life is many.
as the early morning bakery smells waft of yeast,
i become dark, 'til morning-light's bath.
i watch another baby-day be born; silently celebrate;
with up-turned palms i offer it back, with love.
another day of yin yang, battle-Royal for life
and i feel special, a cell-structure of certainity.
my shield bearing the marks of impending constancy
of barrage. my roots seek the meaning of my Life. 12/21/2010 Posted on 12/21/2010 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by George Hoerner on 12/21/10 at 01:33 PM Interesting write Charlie. The idea of the search for meaning is one I have questioned off and on for sometime. I sometimes wonder if we are looking for the wrong thing. We look for 'why' things are happening rather 'what' is happening. We somehow think we really 'know' what is happening when I'm not as sure that we do. Good write. |
