A Life

by Joe Cramer

For your God did love the world
that he completely forgot about me.
His love never came from above
and that faith never set me free.
I know that this smacks in the face
of all of your religious morality,
self-centered morbidity
of how you long for a life thereafter
that doesn't exist, it's all a myth
and not even a good one at that.
But they've always been a minority
in my sordid, so called existence.
For me, it's simply poof, dust,
more ashes in this wind.

A well-shared perspective, my friend. But I think, it is what it is with or without my endorsement, so making the most of this moment, making the best decisions, loving as much as possible, is the best I can do no matter what the "truth" of it turns out to be.
