[12-3-10] by Ava Blu
we've been down this road before
the way your arm stretches out and looks broken,
it bends and never breaks
and i see it dancing out the car window
i see it waving to strangers,
spreading warmth
but it only reaches for me
to throw dead flowers in my face
and i forget to wake up.

Posted by Michael Smith on 12/04/10 at 05:15 AM Great dichotomy. Great form. Your punctuation seems inconsistent. Strong imagery. Evocative. It startles us just like waking from a bad dream. Well done.
