The Girl In The Dark

by Blue Medley

The grass wet with her tears that have fallen from above
With the chilling bite of the frozen air
She sits in a quiet void of hopelessness
Slowly turning in the dark
Waiting for her lover to appear over the horizons line
To wipe away her tears
His hand of fire moves slowly but steadily across her face
Bringing her a since of peace
And at the end of the day when they must depart
She mourns quietly in the shadow of the passed day
Remaining optimistic he shall return as he always does
She begins wishing to the stars above her that he will come
To show her that through the night
The light will shine over the eastern horizon
She sits
Wishing
Wishing
Wishing
That tomorrow will not be their final hours together

Author's Note: If you did't catch it the first time reading through "She" is the earth and "He" is the sun. If you have time i urge you to read it again after knowing who the characters are.
