if they can do it

by Charlie Morgan

always Donavon is trying to catch the wind;
ever is Sisyphus King of Corinth and his stone.

i walk beside them in their altered state. they nod.
continue to talk; each enchanted with the other.

they notice my heavy load of Humanity's Losses.
and pity me; tears flow down their cheeks;

already i can breathe with confidence while
the awaiting of every tomorrow scheduled.
