On My Father by Joe CramerMy father left nothing for me,
barely his name, scarcely his shame
of what he envisioned life to be.
I went through all the stages of grief
but never really found any relief
in what he really wanted.
He never really ever found it. 11/23/2010 Posted on 11/23/2010 Copyright © 2024 Joe Cramer

Posted by George Hoerner on 11/24/10 at 01:29 PM A far more realistic poem than most people realize I fear. A really fine write Joe. I'm not sure which is the real problem, the one a son has with his father, or the one a father has with his son, or the one each has with them self. |
