On My Father

by Joe Cramer

My father left nothing for me,
barely his name, scarcely his shame
of what he envisioned life to be.
I went through all the stages of grief
but never really found any relief
in what he really wanted.
He never really ever found it.

A far more realistic poem than most people realize I fear. A really fine write Joe. I'm not sure which is the real problem, the one a son has with his father, or the one a father has with his son, or the one each has with them self.
