cherubs by Lauren Singerdeft boy,
i will be your synchronized swimmer.
i will direct the motion of your need
and i will
take care of you.
i make lists and illustrations
to remember all the ways you taste.
i will put up with all your creepy friends
just to wrestle in your twin sized bed with the door open.
just start out slow,
take the wheel for awhile.
i want to lay down.
i want you to know where i'm
going with this.
disheveled boy,
take me somewhere secret.
let's be rebel children and never get old. 11/17/2010 Posted on 11/18/2010 Copyright © 2024 Lauren Singer

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 11/18/10 at 08:38 PM The language and style in this are very gripping for what's a pretty simple layout. Amazing what a good writer can do with the deceptively basic. Wonderful write. I really loved the first stanza. |
