Some Nonsense

by Kerowyn Rose

I have your spontaneity in a bottle
on a shelf somewhere...
The world will turn if you're ready or not

I ask if you will play your guitar for me
and you let me write the lyrics when I
promise they won't make sense

Words flower open; a sweet scent
after the longest draught that
causes you to recall disjointed memories

of the two of you - many years ago
arms entwined; your tongue tracing
the crook of her neck in the dark
