This Stars Might be Jealous

by Gabe Zamora

Would you kindly oblige the skies demise?
Our souls interlocked in the
dance of cold night chill as we
lay every still cool breeze through the
trees even they would fall to their knees
if they knew your name; but it is a secret
that you withhold and will never grow old
is this story always told of one or the
other passed on through wonder and amazement
stuck in the maze that is your eyes
leading to your heart is the prize
but they will not allow it, stand in the way
as my heart sways with the tip tap of
smooth melody interrupted by another broken dream,
nightmare if you are keeping score I asked
for nothing more than to see your face
if only they knew what you meant to the
space that is me; but as it comes and goes
nobody knows where it will take me next
so turn the page and watch the stars age
and gather dust to one day be brushed away
to a new land like an old book once loved
now lost in an ocean of milky sparkling
twilight and at suns first light I will sleep
because it is the only time that stars decide
to take a break and so will I. Until we meet again
I will let the stars gaze back at me
like I wish you would.

Kind of stream of consciousness poem. Meanders wherever the mind or subconscious takes it. Almost rap.
