Playing with Fire

by Tota Longmire

Let me rage into your life like a hurricane
Change everything and fan your flames.
Extinguish you and leave you as nothing
But smoldering ashes. Trust me, I’ll lightly
Caress your lingering warmth with slow
Controlled breezes until you flame again
Feeding off my oxygen. Dance with me
As I gust around you. You can warm me
As I breeze through you, gently making
Us more than we ever were alone. At
Times I know that you’ll burn me and
I’ll smother you, but together
We’ll never cease and we can
Singe the world.
