Questioning by Ann MillsThis is my physical shell
retained by the forces of nature
Without fully understanding
or truly knowing.
My mind is my true temple
The conscious awareness
of my soul
which breathes such a special life.
What gives?
Why not let me blow my mind away
with pure unadulterated knowledge
of everything?
An innate understanding of nature
the Universe
The Cellular Structure
of the All-Knowing Consciousness.
I want to eat the forbidden fruit
And if I must die to pay the price
then I will not be alone.
I seek the judgment
I seek the Two Sides of Truth
I seek peace of mind
contentment of spirit
Can you give that precious gift?
Would I accept it were it offered?
Questions, only questions -
never answers.
Why?
The answer lies within me.
The questions only seek to
find an outlet for them.
I question my soul
I doubt my faith
While it rocks my foundation.
How can anyone be so good?
The expectations are too high,
The temptations too great.
Surely there can be no winner.
Were there only good, could it
be appreciated?
So much like Eve appreciated
her good life?
Mine is none so good.
Give to me perfection
And I will keep it so.
Give to me the attainment
to corruption
And I will worsen it
I am but flesh and blood,
body and spirit.
I can be no other.
Come into my soul,
tongues of fire
Spirit of Holiness
Ease my battle off the fields.

Posted by George Hoerner on 11/03/10 at 12:01 PM With this write you have already taken a bite of the fruit of knowledge. A big step and one we all should take to ask those unanswerable questions. It is what makes us human and we all have some form of the same question, WHY. It befalls us all. Good write lady! |
