Samhain

by Jayme L Helmick

I pull back the Veil
and pour out the ashes
leave her behind
letting Her in
They tell me
"You Honor Us"
She laughs at me
"What do you want with me?
They can teach you more..."
I feel at home
Surrounded by cherishing
Infused with power
Not mine
And yet mine by right
Footsteps and whispers
That fleeting corner flash
They are with me
Guiding me
I look deep into my palm
and see them
reflected there
I am full of them
I am them
And tonight I have been blessed.
