Little Lamb

by A. Paige White

They took a lamb into their houses.
I have lived where horses are taken into their barns.

Vehicles are parked in our garages.
Sometimes they're left upon the street.

I have not lived with a lamb about my feet.

They took a lamb into their houses.
They kept a lamb about their feet.

They walked upon the mountains
with a lamb about their feet.

Just for that alone this gospel captivates my soul
To pray the lamb about my feet.

We think about a stroll
I live where horses sometimes play in the street.

It is good to live with a lamb about my feet.

Author's Note:

For five days they took a lamb into their houses, examined it for flaws.
Then they killed it.
