I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Aaron BlairI am certain that I have never deserved you,
the uncomplicated love you have given me,
your labors to know the intricacies of my soul.
Never once did you call me a mystery.
You put your shoulder to the wheel,
steadfast in your desire to sort me out.
When the blood came, the tears,
you found a way to wade through them,
sure that it was worth it to reach the other side.
I am always here waiting for you,
because I know that you will reach me.
Still, the feel of your hand in mine scares me.
I never wanted to need anyone,
to imagine being needed in return.
I have to keep telling myself to remember
that I know you are not going to let go. 10/30/2010 Author's Note: "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie is "our song".
