revived and lost

by Matthew Sharp

she wanted to lead
but i just couldnt follow
been hollowed
again and again
from beyond within
her soul was so shallow
i would always speak
but she couldnt float a message in a bottle

no matter how easy i tried
pretending to live
when she already died
i hate myself
for that which i can not revive

the death of passion
we would listen to it gasping
trying to ignore
the alarms where flashing
a myopic fashion

the frustration led to lost patience
so she lined up
like a robot in formation
in the sanctuary
and soliloquy
and the narcosynthetic bliss
of psychosis
