with lowercase i's by Jeffrey Parrenthe odds and the days
are stacked against you
and when the nights join in
the body is the victim.
the mind grows stronger
with the fight and its might
though the body is weak
unless conditioned thoroughly.
i hate when my poetry
becomes preachy
like in stanza 2 line 4
like i have any idea
what i am doing with this life
like i have any idea
what you intend to do with yours
as if what i say
(with lowercase i's)
makes much a difference for you
anyway.
my mind
my lines
my crime
against myself
and
i guess
you. 10/09/2010 Author's Note: Mind rubbish

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 10/10/10 at 07:04 PM I like the whole thing, but I think this really picks up energy in that third stanza. Terrific stuff, man. |
