page whispers

by Mary Frances Spencer

white empty
virtual parchment
moth-eaten ideas
nibble edges like
old excuses
thrown under with all
that other stuff

yet somehow
i reach deep
try to shed a few feathery
words

over this
almost finished
barely breathing
wisp
of a poem

You needn't make excuses for it MFS. It really is nicely done. Starting can be the easy part and stopping can be the difficult one. Just keep putting pen to paper until you run out.

I know this feeling very, very well. You definitely nailed it here. Very nicely done.
