inside a bubble

by Vikki Owens

i saw the winter
evaporate with the summer heat,
and move to the fall, cooler, condensate and calmer.
i watch now, the world moves outside my bubble,
and never touches me anymore.

what have you done to me, you turned me ten degrees cooler,
i was once so hot-blooded and passionate,
i bled lava and rock, and my god, my god, what have you done?

now, i am climate controlled and i never put my finger on anything,
white gloves and sterilized central nervous system.
these blue eyes, they dont see inside this hollowed out pumpkin,
they just wait for the ice-flows to come
and go, again.
