The Meaning of Life

by Christopher Shin

They say that a
life is gone
when the world
breathes it's last
sighing hope.

When immortality
is in the child's eye,
and all in all
it is tragic.

To put so much
hope and faith
in the ideals
that we can
capture a moment.

Life is gone and said,
the irony of life
is that it is lived.
It is gone and said
and done.

That is the miracle
of living and dying.
