hold the line by Vikki Owenshold the line,
the click of the receiver
takes you away from me,
the functionality of
telephonics...
no more land-lines these days,
but life lines, and security blankets,
and when my phone rings
i grab as if grabbing a life-saver.
wait, wait, operator,
connect me to my soulmate.
connect me to heaven, i need to speak to god.
God, where are you? we are all so mobile these days..
i may have passed you on the parkway,
if i saw you with your hand pressed to your ear,
blue-tooth buzzing electrostatic, could you send me a message.
please leave me a voicemail, im in desperate need of
electronic whispers and
proof that this planet is connected,
even if only by ones and zeros. 09/22/2010 Posted on 09/22/2010 Copyright © 2024 Vikki Owens
