Arguements of Me

by Christopher Shin

Words we say.
Don't mean that
I don't care
about you.

All I want is
the gloom to end,
and the fighting
only makes me sad.

I know you have
your right to be
angry that I chose
to walk away.

But you have to understand,
that the death is gone.
I want to spend
the rest of it
with people who
want to cherish
my soul.

The freedom that
is in my grasp,
but slips through
like a ribbon.

So I choose to
be free like the raven
that flutters away.

And my cry is the sunlight
gone.

Many of us have something that holds us back from feeling free. What ever it is, it is inside us not outside of us. Good write Christopher.

Really liked the last line. So vivid. Great write!

Walking away can be a very empowering thing for both parties. I love the image of the raven escaping.
