by Richard Colinson

The next day will be brighter than today
I shall make it so
Prop myself up
As I resolve to less wallowing

Depression opens doors in the mind
Or perhaps storm drains
For it's a dangerous scrying
Where there is much to see
And much to get washed away
The more of myself I see
The less inclined I am to stir

The frozen observer
Hates movement

Author's Note: It's nice to have finished a poem again. I'm not really that depressed at the moment and this is not a cry for help. It's interesting how a small amount of depression and introspection often precedes a period of creative productivity.
