Dorothy

by Joe Cramer

Dorothy Parker wrote with
such a wit that did evoke
some laughter, much merriment,
and a lot of red faces.
Perhaps it was the inebriation
that gave her the necessary elation
she so desired all of her life.
Her dogs helped, a little
though they had a distinct, succinct habit
of dying, as she did too.
Yet, her words live
through these days of our lives,
and men still make passes
when women wear glasses.
How she hated being remembered thusly.

Instead, try writing a sentence
utilizing the word "horticulture."
