heavy dark by Charlie Morgan3:30, moon gone visiting Venus;
alarm bending to rolling time
and quiet struck like pitch.
a cricket awoke, then awoke me;
i went outside, found a bullfrog.
what's the deal? i asked him.
he gulped and the cricket stopped.
no deal, he said. just getting breakfast.
so i went back to bed, no hills to climb.
yet. 08/30/2010 Posted on 08/30/2010 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by Ken Harnisch on 08/30/10 at 12:29 PM i like this Charlie: breezy and ecclesiastical and bringing about the memory of a dream i once had about a bullfrog who talked and said something profound I wished i remembered. |
| Posted by Jeffrey Parren on 08/30/10 at 06:58 PM "moon gone" was nearly a tongue-twister for me...I had to say it three times to make it clear...i like the dream/reality bend of this...could be either, right? ~JPP |
