The Truth, as You Think You Know It

by Joe Cramer

I feel so very sad for you,
this truth, as you know it
is not what reality has been
you want apologies
for things you know nothing of
this reality has been tainted
by your misconception of love.
Your anger does not set you free,
instead, you're locked within
your own angst. This is it
for this much you know is true.

the challenging thing about truth is that it takes time and effort to even come close to approaching it. keep you chin up Joe - children almost always grow up.

Yes, the truth as they know it is seldom the truth as their parents know it. However, they must tell their story their way for some time before they fully realize that what they witnessed wasn't always the whole story.

Truth and reality are subjective concepts, especially in terms of personal relationships. Having been an angry, disaffected teen (in the far distant past) and in reading this and "An Angry Young Man", I can sympathize/empathize with both of you.

You can't force a teen to do or think as you do. I about fainted the other day when my wife told me someone on facebook called my son a gentleman. But with luck and some good fortune they do grow up. I love the write and I'm not so sure that I've grown up yet.
