This Forgetting

by Jeffrey Parren

It's nearing 7am
the sun is out
or so I assume
since light enters
through
closed white blinds
and I suddenly realize
I have forgotten
what the cars sound like
as they drive by
on this busy road.

Maybe it's
the YouTube surfing
listening/watching
Bukowski and Collins
some Taylor Mali too
that has made me oblivious
to the transit bus
and the violent path
it carves
every day
calling it a route.

It has been nice...
this forgetting.

...forgetting! another crisp write, at first i saw the 7 am and put that suit on, but your 7 o'clock suit may be, prepping to lay yo' body down for the needed sleep from an all-nighter, work+play...keen idea proffered here in the gist but especially the 7 am start. cool.
