one less door to close by Olivia Weinkeini lie here next to you & think about sex
how it can dry out your soul
and just so you know,
when they ask
i tell them i don't know you anymore.
& i eat pretty white pills
to get through the days,
no longer matters if it's raining
it all looks the same.
& life has a way of killing the illusion
that every thing's okay.
but sometimes, i find that old feeling
of contentment, though it does like to
hide & for a moment, I don't mind so much
that it's you and not him by my side.
but if anybody asks,
tell them you don't know me anymore.
i like to keep my options open,
one less door to close. 08/16/2010 Posted on 08/16/2010 Copyright © 2025 Olivia Weinkein

Posted by George Hoerner on 08/17/10 at 12:21 PM “life has a way of killing the illusion that every thing's okay”, now that is a pretty strong statement but it comes pretty close to hitting the mark I’d say. It certainly has a way of waking one up now and again. Most of us prefer to sip our beer or lattes and see the rainbows in the sky. Damn, how life gets in the way. Good write lady. |
