there are days

by Maria Francesca

there are days, my love,
when the air is too airy
and the sun is too bright
but also not quite bright enough.

there are days
when the water's too wet
and the morning lasts a week
and there's not enough time in it
to get anything done.

there are days
when the flowers you bring me
are too flowery
and the chocolate too sweet
and my mouth is incapable
of finding a kind or grateful word.

but please remember,
my love,
that no matter how dreadful,
no matter how snarky,
no matter how awful the days can be,
please remember
there never is a day
when I don't love you.

Not too sweet, not too tart, not too flower nor too bright. Just right, I would say.
