Sharon says. by Aaron BlairSharon says maybe one day
you'll learn to love yourself,
but I think I'm a little too old
to grow any self-esteem now.
In fact, the mere idea
calls to mind a tumor,
a malignancy of arrogance
blooming somewhere inside.
These women who have
given birth to happy children,
they can't understand,
and will forever despair of me.
They've never planted any
darkness inside souls
trapped in their wombs. 07/29/2010 Author's Note: So, Sharon does indeed say this, but, also, a friend of mine likes to start poems with "______ says" so I figured I'd give it a go.
