Caves of Desire by Ken HarnischUnspoken forays into the
Caves of desire
Leave me wanting
For the journey
Again
My heart may be trammeled;
My doubts severe;
My exhaustion evident
In the wheeze of this breath or the
One that follows
And still I yearn for
The adventure
Still I plunge on skinny ropes
Down into sinkholes of
Possibility, and my eyes never blink
A smile, a kind word,
All are the tools of
The spelunker. The imagination
Is my torch; Seduction is
My flame.
I leave writing on the walls;
Those who come to
Admire intent
Are drawn into the cave
Where a light shines
With lusting efflorescence.
And some tell me
There is a spider in these caves,
Weaving webs of you never know

Posted by George Hoerner on 07/28/10 at 08:43 PM I love it Ken. I doubt there are those of who will never give up on making a connection with another person. That little spark can be so elusive but when it's there it feels so right whether it ends up being so or not. A fine write my friend. |

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 07/29/10 at 03:09 PM Thank Heaven for the breath that insists itself upon us, the breath that yearns and plunges, the breath that wraps itself around and delivers itself through poetry! |
