Everyday by Curtis SethalerA little less than second rate
My bowtie’s tied
Bent out of shape
And so am I
It looks like Chevrolet
On its driver’s side
And I feel like I am
Underneath the wreck
Pinned and pining
My pulse increasing
Under pressure
And I, and I
Am calm and comforted
Though I am out of my mind
And so far behind
I wish the weight
Of the world
Were on my shoulders
Instead of firmly on my chest
What a picturesque way,
To start the day.....

Posted by Linda Fuller on 07/31/10 at 09:26 PM I like this poem. Like "pinned and pining" and what the "and I, and I" line does to the pace. |
