Pierced

by John Smith

Small and meek
Slow to speak

Fierce the essence
With a powerful presence

A lingering touch
An alarming clutch

A vast indwelling
A forced upwelling

Rending the shroud
Of the calloused and proud

None sane can defend
All hearts beg an end

A tear from the eye of one precious.
