I never get a letter from you. by Ryan NardiI never get a letter from you.
I never know just what I'm sposed to do.
I never get a messenger,
a red alert,
or little bird.
No, I never get a letter from you.
I don't know what address to put on mine.
I just talk out loud and close my eyes.
Sometimes I think you're talking back.
Sometimes I think my head is cracked.
I never get a letter from you.
The bushes that I pass are all the same.
Drying in the sun but none in flames.
I looked off of a mountain top,
but all there was was space to drop.
I never catch a sight nor sound of you.
I never get a letter from you.

Posted by Charlie Morgan on 07/23/10 at 12:12 PM ...i like it too, tho to me 'tis far from sad. sorta like an existential kiss-off. love it. i grinned when i saw the second time...that you didn't get a letter, by then i was grinning. letter? what letter? too cool. & it was/is heavy too. |

Posted by Linda Fuller on 07/31/10 at 07:57 PM I like this a lot - whimsically sad, sadly whimsical, well-written. |
