old skin on a new day

by Matthew Sharp

have you ever had a hustle about you
made something out of nothing
throw it away because its too hot to handle

can you work a crowd before it works you
can you smile at your enemy for a friend
could you leave your car on the side of the road
because too many people recognize it

could you ever go into a city youve never been
and go to the highest sky scraper
and work your way from the top floor to the bottom
can you cross a busy street with your eyes closed
when you get there
for the simple fact that you have moments
where you truly dont care
would you pick an argument with a cop
for the simple fact that you know youre legal

I would, and the sun keeps shining:)

I can't recall that I ever had a 'hustle about me' but it sounds like you do so up and at'em. Good write Matthew.
