Here you go again
with the pleading
texts without response
yet the calls soon follow

you write “I've changed”
you plead your case
that you deserve anything

it's all quite a folly to me

so I gave you everything
for longer than I should have

now you want it back
or whatever the hell you want
because you've had a bad week
or that new guy left you

or worse he isn't me

can't live up to me
isn't in the same class
can't shake a stick at
isn't as deep or passionate

as me

it took you this long to remember
and all the bad things
we did to one another
need not be said

but the accusations of lies
you threw at me daily
were so strong
to that point I doubted myself

all the while
it was you
you were spewing lies
or deceptions
or whatever innocent word
you try to apply
to what you did

I owe you nothing
and that's what you're getting
