The Crime Of The Century

by Joan Serratelli

I called you

this morning

~TWICE~

I was worried

so I had the ordacity

to call

~TWICE~

You hollered at me

and hung up

Don't worry

I won't call again

I guess my crime was

to worry

There have been times

when YOU called ME

numberous times

and even though

it was inconvient.

I took the time

to talk

But that's me

I have never

hung up on you

I feel bad

and make no mistake

about it

I'm hurt

I'm tired

of "burdening" you

with ALL my calls;

After all,

I must call you

once a week

My crime was that

I called

~TWICE~

Author's Note: I'm tired of feeling that I'm everyone's worst nightmare. I DESERVE respect- I've earned it.

I know these tensions, too well. Continue to be true to yourself...we all need to be self-authenticating. Stay strong, speak out! Thanks.
